Technology @ WPS

Winchester Public Schools (WPS) recognizes that today’s learners must exceed core curriculum standards to be best prepared for success in secondary and post-secondary institutions and the future workplace. Throughout the WPS district, our technology team and support coaches have made significant progress in preparing our students for success in the 21st century.

In 2014, in partnership with the Winchester Foundation for Educational Excellence (WFEE), WPS launched PowerEd Up: Transforming Classrooms. This public/private partnership significantly upgraded WPS network infrastructure and educational technology across the district, totaling over $1,000,000 of investment over several years. Through continued collaboration with WFEE, federal and state grants, and local operating funds, WPS continues to prioritize investment in technology for IT infrastructure and classroom needs.

In alignment with our district’s vision for learning, which establishes how our classrooms are respectful, inclusive, personalized learning spaces that support innovation and healthy risk-taking—our WPS technology team’s overarching goal is to ensure all students have access to technology when and where they most need it, support them in leveraging technology for their personal achievement, and ensure they are eager to contribute to an ever-evolving digital society.
