Dear Winchester Families:
We are almost at the half-way point of the 2019-2020 school year and happy to be getting back into normal routines. Our students have impressed me with the high level of engagement, rigor, and authentic learning I am seeing in our classrooms. Most importantly, I am struck in every school by how genuinely kind, hard-working, helpful, and collaborative our students and teachers are.
I thought I would share a few district happenings/reminders with you:
- Do you have a child who will be ready to attend preschool or kindergarten this fall? Registration for PreK is now open here: https://www.winchesterps.org/schools/winchester_preschool/index.php and tuition-free, full-day K is open here: https://cms5.revize.com/revize/winchesterschools/Grade%20K-Registration%201_10_20%20Final.pdf
- The draft district calendar for 2020-2021 is posted on our website and can also be found here: https://cms5.revize.com/revize/winchesterschools/Calendar_20-21.pdf. Please note that the first day falls on September 2nd, which is before Labor Day this fall.
- We are pleased to announce that Elizabeth Drolet will be Lynch School’s next principal. She officially starts in July, but please join us in bidding her a warm welcome as she transitions into this role.
- In this busy season, a lot of events are planned for our schools, including a Day of Service in Honor of Dr. King on Sunday, 1/19 at 10 a.m. at WHS. Check out district happenings by month and school on our searchable event calendar here: https://www.winchesterps.org/schools/winchester_high_school/calendars.php.
