Digital Literacy & Computer Science

Overview

All students in grades 6-8 take digital literacy / computer science courses at McCall Middle School, and are encouraged to take electives at Winchester High School. Our vision is to provide a comprehensive educational experience that cultivates computational thinking, digital literacy, and problem-solving skills essential for navigating an increasingly technology-driven world. Through a blend of interactive lessons, coding challenges, and project-based learning, we follow the Digital Literacy and Computer Science Standards to ignite a passion for innovation and equip our students with the tools they need to thrive in a digital society.

Technology Engineering

Our vision is to cultivate a dynamic learning environment that fosters creativity, critical thinking, and technical skills necessary for success in an ever-evolving world. Through hands-on projects, real-world applications, and collaborative problem-solving, we aim to inspire students to become proficient problem-solvers, proficient communicators, and ethical users of technology. Our curriculum adheres to the STE Frameworks and NGSS Standards, yet remains flexible to accommodate emerging innovations. All students in grades 6, 7, and 8 take Technology Engineering classes, and students are encouraged to take our elective classes offered at Winchester High School to build upon those skills in grades 9-12. We aspire to equip our students with the tools and growth-mindset needed to thrive in the 21st century and beyond.
