Welcome to Winchester Public Schools Kindergarten Registration

To be eligible for Kindergarten Registration, your student must be five years old on or before September 1 of the entering school year. Our Kindergarten program is tuition-free and runs on the same full-day schedule as grades 1 through 5.

Registration for the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 school years is in progress. Information on how to register online is available on this website. If you have any questions about Kindergarten registration, please contact the Registrar at registrar@winchesterps.org.

The WPS looks forward to meeting your family and starting this exciting journey together.

Gather Documents

Step 2: Gather Documents

The registration process is online. Parents/guardians must upload all required documents for each new student to enroll in Winchester Public Schools through the Aspen Family Portal, the information systems database used by Winchester Public Schools. Gathering the required documents before starting the online registration process is encouraged. A list of required documents can be found here (link) and are listed below.

We ask that all documents be translated entirely into English. A professional translator should complete all translations prior to completing the online registration process.

Family Portal Website

Step 3: Access our Aspen Family Portal to Begin Registration

Create an account on the Aspen Family Portal (select “request an account” to begin), or sign in with your existing account, to access the online registration forms. Aspen is WPS’ Student Information System (SIS). The account you create will be maintained and kept throughout your student(s) time at Winchester Public Schools.

Using a computer or tablet for the online registration process is encouraged, as a mobile device may provide challenges.

Once you have set up your Aspen account, you will receive a confirmation email from a "@myfollett.com" account. Clicking on the link will activate your account and allow you to complete the application form. Please check your spam folder if confirmation has not been received.

If you have previously used our online registration process to register your student’s sibling(s), use your existing username and password.

The online registration process allows the parent/guardian to save their application to be completed later. In addition, if required fields are not completed, the parent/guardian will be halted in the process.

Are you having trouble with your account?

School Assignment

Step 4: Receive Student’s Elementary School Assignment

Upon fully submitting a student’s registration, it will be reviewed by the registration staff. After the registration staff approves, your student will receive their elementary school assignment. Elementary schools are assigned based upon streets within the Town of Winchester (link). Please check your spam folder. You will also be connected with the administrative assistant at the elementary school.

Step 5: Complete the Parent Questionnaire and Preschool Inventory

The Parent Questionnaire is to be completed by a parent / guardian of the child, and the preschool inventory to be completed by your child's preschool teacher, if applicable.  Both documents provide helpful information to staff at your elementary school, and it is requested that both documents be completed and provided back to your elementary school by April 19, 2024. Forms may be dropped off or mailed to your elementary school.

View the Parent Questionnaire and Preschool Inventory here (link).
