Dear Winchester Students, Families, Faculty, and Staff:
We are looking forward to our first student day this Wednesday, September 1st! Our plans for the 2021-2022 school year took a bit of a turn over the last few weeks as transmission of the Delta variant of COVID-19 began trending upward, but we continue to work with local and state health officials to adjust so that we can ensure a smooth start. What we know for certain is that it will be a happy and special day to see our children and young adults arriving at our schools for a new year!
This week, I am pleased to share with you our WPS 2021-2022 School Opening website, filled with what we believe will be useful information about the start of the school year! This resource includes everything we think you may find helpful to get your year off to a great start, but it is still a work in progress so expect to see changes and updates.
In my message last week, I shared that we are opening with all reasonable precautions to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 among our students, staff, and families. Our goal is a successful and productive school year, which means we must do all we can to protect the health of our students and educators. The information provided in that message, along with some updates from our town and school health experts, can be found here. You will also find all of this on our new WPS 2021-2022 School Opening site.
I wish you all a school year filled with hope, a sense of belonging, and accomplishment. To new beginnings.
Frank Hackett, Ed.D.
Superintendent of Schools
